What is the best live music for my wedding ceremony?

Adel and Karina say “there are different options available to you for your wedding ceremony music. However (and yes we are bias), we believe the harps are the most romantic of musical instruments.”

What live music should I choose for my church ceremony?

The church is a very traditional and beautiful setting for your wedding and certain churches have different expectations of what you book.  Before your ceremony you have the option of the church bells to ring until you enter the church.  The organist may play you and your bridal party down the aisle; it is your choice whether to have this or something different.

For the hymns they usually suggest that you use their choir and organists to accompany the congregation (your guests!).  It can be quite awkward if the guests do not know the hymns as some of them might not be church-goers.  It is best to stick with the ones everyone knows so there isn’t a silent church with just the vicar singing!

For your exit you can either have a CD track play you out or the church organist.  The bell ringers will usually ring the bells as you exit the church to let everyone know that you are now married.

However there are more alternative options for your wedding such as a string quartet, harpist, vocalists or even an acoustic guitarist.  This gives you more variety for you and your guests and more freedom over the music you can choose and it can make the church service more interesting and memorable for you and your guests.

What live music should I choose for my civil/celebrant led ceremony?

There are many choices of live musicians near you to play at your civil/ celebrant led wedding ceremony.  These range from steel bands and saxophonists to acoustic guitarists, harpists and wedding singers.  It really depends on you and what type of wedding you are having.

A steel band is great for outdoor ceremonies as they are very loud and can be heard from a long distance.  It is a very upbeat type of music and may not be the ideal choice if you are looking for a slow and romantic entrance.

Wedding singers can provide a variety of repertoire and what type of singer you have is based on your style of music.  They can vary the repertoire; however they also can be difficult for your guests to talk over.

Saxophonists usually use backing tracks which will need to be amplified on speakers so guests can hear it.  It is a very soulful and jazzy instrument and is great for your drinks reception.

Acoustic guitarists are another great choice for your ceremony as it is very intimate.  However they may not be heard in the drinks reception or wedding breakfast as the guests will be talking over them.

Why should I choose a harp for my wedding ceremony?

A harp is an elegant and timeless choice of instrument for your wedding ceremony and it entertains your guests.  It is a versatile instrument and is suitable for both traditional and non-traditional brides.  The harp can be an ideal match for vintage weddings, barn weddings and church weddings.

It is perfect for background music and guests can still talk over it whilst waiting for the bride to arrive.  The music creates a relaxing atmosphere for you and your guests to enjoy.  It is possible for modern songs to be played on the harp but can still be relaxing and guests will be able to recognise the tunes being played.

Harps have a beautiful and memorable sound making the entrance of the bride even more magical.  For the signing of the register it is ideal for mellow background music to entertain your guests and keep them in their seats until your ceremony is finished.  Despite being known for its melodious tones it can still be upbeat and fun for the exit of the bridal party and sets the tone for the rest of your wedding day.

Why choose 2 of Harps

2 of Harps are the only two harps and two voices duo in the world, which make them different to any other musician.  They have a modern take on being harpists as they play harp duo and vocal arrangements of modern songs as well as jazz, rock, R&B, modern classical and Disney music.   They are perfect for younger couples looking for a modern twist on the harp.

Adel and Karina believe a personal service is really important to having a positive booking experience.  That is why they invite you to a pre-wedding meeting where you can listen to live music of excerpts of songs of your choice.  They discuss the arrangements to make sure everything runs smoothly for your ceremony and so that they get to know you as people more.

If they don’t have your ideal aisle song on their extensive repertoire they will learn it for you so that your walk down the aisle is unforgettable.
